Accreditation of Yoga Therapy
BCYT accredits Yoga Therapy courses based on meeting the minimum requirements of the BCYT's Core Curriculum.
Yoga Therapy trainers are encouraged to exceed these minimum requirements in order to promote a high standard of training and knowledge and to allow Yoga Therapists to develop their experience.
National Occupational Standards (NOS):-
The BCYT proposes 4 committee members to The Complementary and Natural Healthcare Council (CNHC) to act as their Profession Specific Body evaluating appropriate standards for Yoga Therapists.
Yoga Therapists who have completed an Accredited Yoga Therapy training course can apply to the CNHC's voluntary register.
Other Yoga Therapists can also apply for CNHC registration and will need to provide information on their qualifications and experience. Details are on the CNHC website.
